Newsmaker of the Year: No. 10 Stacy Lewis

Stacy Lewis by playing, and they play fast.

She blew through all Americans with her in the Rolex Replica world rankings in 2012 and now has his sights on overtaking Yani Tseng set as top-ranked woman in the world in 2013.

How far and how fast Lewis has come?

At the start of the 2011 season, which was No. 37 in the Rolex World Rankings. But it was the American's eighth highest behind Cristie Kerr, Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Angela Stanford, Brittany Lincicome and Kristy McPherson. It sounded for all to rise as high as No. 2 in the world this season.

Rise of Lewis was the news of the year for the LPGA in 2012. She rode a tour of the top four wins the first American Rolex Player of the Year since Beth Daniel in 1994 won.

With Americans losing mass appearing on the world stage in women's golf in the last 15 years, Lewis made his way to lead a resurgence. His four titles helped Americans say eight LPGA titles in 2012, corresponding to the South Koreans most of any nation this year.

"I wanted it for the tour," said Lewis. "I wanted all American girls, fair to do anything to increase the pressure. 'S a ton of pressure. Have the expectations of yourself and your country and other players."

Although Lewis won his first major at the Kraft Nabisco in the spring of 2011 and ended the year ranked No. 10 in the world, he found the motivation to open the season with almost no one talks about him as a favorite in the biggest game.

"There is a bit of a chip on his shoulder," said Lewis. "Even last year I have a little high. Definitely motivation was coming this year."

Lewis began his winning streak in 2012 at Mobile Bay LPGA Classic in late April, and then won his next stroke-play start, claiming the Shoprite Classic. Lewis won in Alabama back in September at the Navistar Classic and also won the Mizuno Classic in Japan in November.

A reading of the statistics for the whole season shows why Lewis rose to the top of many markers. It was the first tour in birdies, third in scoring average thirds in greens in regulation and third in putts per greens in regulation.

Lewis thinks he can improve with a focus on overtaking Tseng, to be No. 1 in the world in the next year.

"That's one of the things that I go to have to pay attention to next year," said Lewis. "This is one of the goals of this year to undermine his example and reduce this gap. This is the next goal for me, the No. 1 in the world, but you have to win tournaments, you have to be in combat. Number 1 is the result of much hard work, and I just continue to work hard. "

Lewis's world rankings 2.63 points behind Tseng average rankings in the Rolex Watches. Eight months ago, Lewis was a whopping 12.15 points behind average. Lewis, now to do No. 3 behind Tseng and Na Yeon Choi, still working. Worth with a win against a strong field in general, 0.7 points, Lewis could not give a chance to # 1 for a month or so in the next season.

Long and difficult trips are nothing new for Lewis, who overcame scoliosis become the best American woman in the game today. He had a rod and five screws in the spine before she went to the University of Arkansas. She redshirted her first year recovering from the surgery, but eventually the championship of the NCAA Division I won close to completion.

"I remember sitting in my doctor's office before the surgery and think," Why me? Why is all this happening to me? '"Lewis said in the Rolex Player of the Year acceptance speech." This is something I asked a lot of things in my life, good and bad, and I still do not know the answer. I do not know why I went through everything that has happened to me, but I know that whatever happens to you happens for a reason. And all the adversity I have experienced is the reason why I today. Evening here and I would not be here without the help of a lot of people "
